Castle tourism in Saga Prefecture

Saga Prefecture is surrounded by the Genkai Sea and the Ariake Sea and is blessed with a rich natural environment. Karatsu City is home to spectacular scenic spots such as Niji no Matsubara, one of Japan's three largest pine pinelands, and the sea cave and Nanatsugama, as well as the Karatsu Kunchi festival, which is designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, is held in November. Karatsu, Arita, and Imari are also famous for their pottery, and pottery tours are popular. There are also historical spots such as the Yoshinogari ruins, Ojo, known as ``Little Kyoto of Kyushu,'' Saga Castle, which is associated with the Ryuzoji and Nabeshima clans, and Karatsu Castle, also known as ``Maizuru Castle.'' Also be sure to check out Ureshino Onsen, one of Japan's top three hot springs for beautiful skin, and Yobuko's squid.
