Gujo Hachiman Castle is the oldest wooden reconstructed castle in Japan. The castle tower is celebrating its 80th anniversary.

It is also called the Gujo domain or the Hachiman domain. Endo Yoshitaka became a feudal lord with 27,000 koku. During the reign of the fourth lord, Endo Tsuneharu, peasant uprisings and family riots broke out.
