Castle tourism in Tottori Prefecture

Tottori Prefecture, famous for the Tottori Sand Dunes, has a variety of unique spots. Mt. Daisen, also known as Hoki Fuji, is a famous spot for mountain climbing and skiing. Castles such as Tottori Castle, which served as the stage for Toyotomi Hideyoshi's food raid, and Yonago Castle, the ``castle in the sky overlooking the sea,'' still remain. Kurayoshi City, a castle town where a group of white-walled storehouses remain, is attractive for its quaint townscape. Sakaiminato, near Shimane Prefecture, is Shigeru Mizuki's hometown and there are many spots where you can meet yokai.
