Hiroshima Prefecture is home to two world heritage sites: Miyajima and the Atomic Bomb Dome. Itsukushima Shrine, which retains the atmosphere of the Heian period, is a scenic spot facing the sea, and the large torii gate floating on the sea is very famous. Many spots related to the Mori family remain, such as Hiroshima Castle and Koriyama Castle built by Terumoto Mori, and Motonari Mori's grave. The southern part faces the Seto Inland Sea and is popular for its nostalgic townscape of Onomichi and the scenic Shimanami Kaido. Innoshima on the Shimanami Kaido is also known as the birthplace of the Murakami Suigun.
