Furoan, a tea room on a cliff that looks like a ship
Furoan, a Sukiya-zukuri hermitage located within Garyu Sanso, was built to look like a ship on a cliff overlooking the Garyu-buchi. The ceiling is made of bamboo wickerwork and is shaped like the bottom of a ship, and the curved area is illuminated by the reflection of the moon, which can be seen during limited nighttime hours. There is a tea room next to the entrance where you can enjoy tea from April to October. The view from inside is spectacular, but the view from the other side of the Hijikawa River is also a must-see.
