Beautiful famous architecture “Garyu Sanso”

This Sukiya style villa was built by Torajiro Kawachi, a trader during the Meiji period, at Garyu-buchi, one of the most scenic spots in the Hijiri River basin.It was built by inviting master craftsmen from Kyoto, and is now one of the Katsura Imperial Villas in Ozu. It has a different name. Garyu-in, which took 10 years to plan and four years to construct, is a masterpiece of architecture that pays close attention to detail, and is characterized by a number of exquisite designs. Gardens that take advantage of the cliff topography are also popular. In addition to being designated as a national important cultural property, it was awarded one star in the Michelin Green Guide Japan in 2011.
