Former Kato family residence

Former Kato family residence, former daimyo family
Modern Japanese architecture is available for accommodation

The former Kato family residence is a modern Japanese-style building built in 1925 by Yasumichi Kato, a descendant of the former lord of the Ozu domain. Initially, it was used as the Kato family's office and residence when they returned home, but after the war it became Yasumichi's retirement home. The two-story wooden hipped building, which is a registered tangible cultural property, has a formal, Western-style modern feel. Glass shoji screens are used on the second floor. Currently, it is part of the ``NIPPONIA HOTEL Ozu Castle Town,'' and you can stay overnight there.
